Surf / Beach

Thomas de Jong is a great surfer from Holland. His best results are his second and third places at national championships held in Wijk aan Zee and Scheveningen. Besides cutting up the waves behind the dunes in Holland he likes to travel a lot. Indonesia, France, Spain, it's all good to Thomas as long as there is some pumpin' swell. His goal is to win the Dutch Championships, but Jurriaan Roos (Sinner Rider) and Yannick de Jager are fierce competitors. We are all curious to know what will happen next year.

Matias Libier is a surfer in France with a big future in front of him. Sinner Eyewear supports him in his goal to become the best surfer in the world. See here the results so far:

1st remplaçant Championnat de France (surf cadets) 1st Vans Royal Single Trophy (junior) 2nd Vans Royal Single Trophy (cadets) 4th Championnat Cote Basque (surf cadets)  5th Quiksilver Maider Arosteguy (surf minimes) 6th Championnat Aquitaine (longboard espoir)

Jurriaan Roos (2nd, Dutch Surfing Championships 2008-2009) grew up in a small town in Holland near the coast. This is his home, but during the summer he makes trips to France, California and Indonesia. The Netherlands does not have the best waves in the world, but can still produce really good surfers. Jurriaan has the ambition to participate in the WQS, but until then he kicks ass by rippin' waves all over the world. He is really happy Sinner Eyewear has decided to be his sponsor. The places where he can find good waves are often sunny, so besides the sunglasses prevent him from being blinded by the sun, he can also impress the girls on the beach. For more pictures of Jurriaan Roos check out the Sinner Agenda that is coming out in the spring of 2010.

Ilona Hoogland is a very fanatic surfer. She has been surfing for almost 7 years at her hometown in the Netherlands, Wijk aan zee. In the last few years she travelled to Australia, NZ, Spain, Portugal, France, England and the USA. So, this surf chick has really surfed all over the world. Her dream is to go to Tahupoo to master the waves there. She loves clean offshore waves, early morning sessions, surfing with snow, off the lips, competitions and good food with a huge dessert.

Emiel Boersma and Joppe Paulides (Dutch Champions 2005; 17th, Olympic Games Beijing 2008)

The tallest Beach Volleyball team in the world!

Robert van Esterik and Rob de Bie (Closed Dutch Beachvolleyball Champions 2009) are two amazing beachvolleyballers. Nobody could beat them in the last Closed Dutch Championships organised by the NeVoBo. In the final during the championship they were able to bring home the title after three exciting sets. Beachvolleyballers need to have good visibility during their matches. That is why they have a great sponsordeal with Sinner Eyewear. They get sunglasses from the sport performance series that are specially designed for athletes like them. In the future we will definitely hear more from them.

Beachvolleybal players Merel Mooren en Margo Wiltens

"Unique, is the best word to describe our team, it is also the best word to describe Sinner. ", says Margo. To achieve the best performance, we need the best "vision" there is. By collaborating with Sinner we don't have to worry about that any more. We are very satisfied with the comfort, appearance and quality, which brings out the word unique again. It doesn't matter in which weather circumstances we are playing, because with the perfect sunglasses we always have a good vision in wind, rain and most important the sun! On the beach we search for the challenge to always push ourselves to the limit and it makes it easier with Sinner!

We are Margo and Merel on our way to the top!

Beachvolleybal team Inge Boersma and Charlotte Hermans

We’re Inge Boersma and Charlotte Hermans. Inge lives near by Amsterdam and Charlotte lives in The Hague.

We have been playing in the National Tour for many years with different volleyball partners and since 2008 we are a team. That year, we got 5th at the National Championships. In 2009, Inge couldn’t join in the National Championships because she had a concussion. Charlotte played with somebody else and got 7th. Our results in 2009 where good and we feel very comfortable in the field and know what we have together, so we decided to also be a team in 2010.

We both have our own speciality. Charlotte, the tallest one, is the blocker and we hope everybody will be afraid of her long arms and Inge, the smallest, has to pick up all the balls that Charlotte can't block.

In wintertime, we train in the Beach in Aalsmeer and last winter/ spring, Charlotte went to Australia for 3 months for a training camp. That’s why she is so tinted. She trained with two Dutch girls, some Aussie girls and her coach in Manly was Kerri Ann Pottharst, a gold medal winner at the Olympic games in Sydney.

Most of the time, we train at Special Sports in Amstelveen (they have two beachvolleyball courts) but also in Scheveningen on the beach.

We’re playing in the National Beachvolleyball tour, which is the highest ranked in Holland. There are 9 tournaments to get qualified for the National Championships. The tournaments are on all different locations in Holland. For example: Dam Square in Amsterdam, in the center of Assen and Tilburg, and there are also tournaments on the beach.

The National Championships are this year from the 19th till the 22th of august in the Hommerson beach stadium in Scheveningen, witch is a perfect location.

Our goal for this year is finishing within the first three, so a place on the stage, in a normal tournament and equalise the 5 th place of 2008 with the National Championships.

C U @ the beach!!! INGE BOERSMA & CHARLOTTE HERMANS

BMX

Stuart Gibson

Stuart Gibson grew up in a small town called Maasland, so he didn't really have much to ride when he first started out. I think the fact that he started out with so little, made him the rider he is now. He doesn't need that perfect transition or that perfectly shaped dirt-jump like some riders do, he just rides whatever is in front of him. I love how he always does stuff that you don't see anyone else doing, he doesn't follow any trends, he doesn't learn tricks because they're cool, he just does his own thing. Whenever there's a contest or jam going on, you just know he's going to be there. Whether it's something big like the Masters is Cologne, or just a local mini-ramp jam in Aarle-Rixtel. Travelling is one of his favourite things, his bike has taken him all over the world, from Woodward camp in America, to Australia, he's seen it all. He's basicly just a really chill guy, who doesn't let anything get to him, and just lives every day to the fullest.
